Easter
Just a mishmash of photos from Easter. Some of the pretty blossoms that are finally showing up, and some of kids hunting for eggs! Enjoy!
The 'P' Family
I had the opportunity to take pictures for a family this last weekend. It wasn't just your regular family shoot though, this was parents and their grown up children with their spouses and all their children. It ended up being about 18 people all together. We were able to do the pictures in the parents beautiful yard, and the weather was actually sunny! So... I don't know if you know, but it is pretty hard to get 18 people smiling and looking at you and holding still all at once. In fact at one point, we thought we'd gotten a couple good group shots only to realize that one of the grandkids was inside playing, and was missing from the pictures! Yikes. We did shots of each of the separate kids' families, then everyone together, then just the parents with their kids, then the parents with the grandkids. It was a lot of work, I won't lie, my back was pretty sore by the end of the shoot! :) I hope I got a few shots they love though!
Be prepared for a lot of pictures!
This is the grandparents with all the grandkids, it was the last picture we took and those poor kids were DONE. :) haha

Week 17
This week's theme was: Princess for a Day
Since it was the Royal Wedding this week, they chose this princess theme. It was my son's birthday this last week and so I thought maybe I'd do a prince for a day thing, so I put together a little collage of him eating his cake that was so cute, BUT it was too large to upload. Hmmm. The rest of the week I kept thinking if the weather warmed up I would take my older daughter and take pictures of her in her white baptism dress, but the weather never warmed up. SO, as if this explanation wasn't long enough, I just submitted this picture of the cherry tree in blossom at my parents yard.
I said something along the lines of: "...with all the rain we've been having, these blossoms were 'pretty as a princess'. " Cheesy I know. BUT I got my picture done, so I don't feel too bad. :)

Week 16
This week's theme is: Furry Friends
We don't own any sort of pets, so I briefly considered taking a picture of my children. haha! But we were at my parents quite a bit the last few days and they have a dog and cat and some horses, so I took a few pictures of them. It was hard to decide, I really liked the way the cat picture turned out, but there were so many cat and dog pictures submitted already that I decided on the horse:
This is my mom's horse Annie, she's pretty timid and so whenever she's friendly to me, I'm always thrilled! :)

Week 15
This week's theme is: How other's see you
I was so busy this week and didn't want to do another self portrait, I kept trying to come up with something that represented me but was clever and would be fun to shoot. This idea finally hit me and it seemed doable and fun and worked in my time frame! I think if I'd had a bit more time I could have done a few different things, but I'm still happy with this and I think its fun:
"I think people see me as a pretty good egg." :)
I think this represents me in a few different ways, I think I try to be a good person sure (even if I'm not always), but I think the picture itself shows a bit of my personality. I'm a little bit silly, I don't always take myself too seriously (and of course, sometimes I really DO! haha), I like pretty, delicate things and I have a pretty soft shell and then you get to all the mushy stuff inside me! haha
Post Edit: I was chosen as one of the top ten pictures for this week! How exciting! :)

Little Boys
Thought it was about time to take some new pictures of my boys together. I wanted to do a fun little theme, so I slicked my older boy's hair to the side and put some big glasses on him, and had him read a story to his brother. I thought they turned out pretty fun!

Week 14
This week's theme is: Fusion
I saw such a cool picture someone did with water and food coloring, but I didn't want to be a copy cat! haha I also spent a TON of time rolling out and then baking and then making frosting and then coloring different colors and THEN frosting cookies yesterday, that I figured I could make them fit into the theme and get some fun pictures out of it too. I am NOT a food photographer! Food is so hard to photograph, you must have good lighting and the food needs to be set up in a pretty way and you really need a good lens. I have none of this going for me. So despite that, I think the cookies still look pretty and pretty yummy too!
Fusion: Whoever decided to unite cookies with frosting is a genius. :)

Week 13
This week's theme is: Just for Fun
I've done a few of those "Mila's Daydreams" type of photos, but I wanted to do some with my older kids and where they're awake instead of asleep. I thought it would be really FUN to do a sort of super hero style, since my son has Superman pajamas and I thought I might be able to convince him to lay still. HA! I tried to set him up and then set up my almost one year old behind him, like he was teaching his brother how to fly, it was going to be so cute (in my head) but that quickly went out the window. I basically only got one picture that was halfway decent! What do you think?

Week 12
I've been missing in action the last couple of the "52 Week Project" posts because my husband went to Washington DC and took my camera. I wanted him to have a camera (we only have the one) and get some fun shots of all the great things in DC, but that put me behind in my project! So here I am playing catch up! The week's theme was:
Out of the Jewelry Box
Alright then, I used to sell Lia Sophia jewelry so I have my fair share of stuff! At least this week wasn't hard to come up with an idea! Here's what I did:

Washington DC
My husband took these pictures, but I at least edited them! haha I thought they would be fun to share even though I couldn't go to Washington DC with him, maybe another time? I'll keep my fingers crossed!
It was also the Cherry Blossom Festival, so kind of fitting to add those to this blog right? :)
